What is the Best Chromebook?
It’s a simple enough sounding question, but the answer is complex, and elusive.
The best Chromebook is your Chromebook. It’s the Chromebook that fits your needs, that has the features you want or need.
Unfortunately, there isn’t always one model that has all the features we’re looking for, and we’re forced to make sacrifices. Hopefully that’s not the case for you. With so many models available from so many manufacturers, it’s quite possible your perfect Chromebook is out there, waiting for you.
But is there an objective answer to the question? Is there a “best Chromebook”?
Many would argue that the second generation Chromebook Pixel is the best Chromebook out there and I would tend to agree. It certainly has the best hardware of any Chromebook out there. But it’s also a tad bit larger, and heavier than the average Chromebook, and isn’t fan-less. Some people are looking for something more portable, and quiet.
The Chromebook Flip, and Acer R11 models are both “convertibles”, with 360 degree hinges that allow for “tablet mode”. They’re small, light. The Flip is fan-less. They’re also much less expensive than the Pixel.
There are also Chromeboxes (desktop unit that runs Chrome OS), Chromebases (all-in-one computer that runs Chrome OS) and a Chromebit (small dongle the size of a candy bar that runs Chrome OS), each filling it’s own niche.
The truth is, there is no answer to the question “What’s the best Chromebook”. It’s as subjective as the question “What’s the best flavor of ice cream?”. But hopefully, with the tool on this website, you’ll be able to find the perfect Chromebook for you.
